2 Projects

So today I am showing you the 2 projects I just finished as a guess DT at Scrapbook Café. What a honor to be a guess DT. They gave me 2 different kits and the task was to create 2 projects. I choose to alter a frame and made a mini album in a suitcase. The frame is one from the dollar store that I added chipboard dividers and painted it. It will go in my daughter's bedroom. There is a mini album (on the left with the green ribbon) filled with her school photos.
And the second project is this little suitcase with its mini album that I made from raw chipboard. The suitcase measures 4 x 6. I am very happy with it. The photos are from the one day trip we made on Father's day. Grosse Île (if I translate this it is Big Island) is a very nice place to visit.

This is it for today. Canada Post reopened their doors yesterday! Hourra!!
Have a creative Wednesday

Finally!

What a week! But it is over now! Yay!!! Here are the lay out I made at the Crop last week-end. The first one is a photo of my dad when he was young and the challenge was to add at least 3 pink ornaments and a masculine page. The title is Ephémère and it means short-lived because my dad died when I was 11. So most of my life has been without him.
The second challenge was to pay a tribute to a man in our life. Of course I choose a photo of hubby. The title is deuxième carrière that means second career. Hubby has been a military guy for 20 years and now he is a pilot, how proud I am of him, because I know all the efforts he made to make his dream come true!
Also at the crop last saturday they gave me the opportunity to be the invited DT of the month! Oh là là! So they gave me 2 kits and I have to make something with these. Both projects are almost done. I'll show you for sure!
And since I am here I am also showing you another card I made, a Good-bye card this time. Also made with an envelope and a lot of tickets so a bunch of people can sign in.
Have a creative Saturday!

A new Challenge!

I found a new challenge right Here. It is to use the entire set of stamps (at least a 4 stamps set). So I choose a Bo Bunny stamps set and made this lay out. It's been a while now that I wanted to make a white page with only a red stamp on it. The title is enfance, it means, childhood

This is the stamp set I used.
I went to a crop last saturday. It was a good one. I will take the photos of the pages I made and show you later this week.
So for now, have a Creative Monday!

It's A Girl Card

I started this card with a plain white envelope. Inside I sewn 2 more pockets to hold all of the 20 tickets. This card needed a lot of place to let people sign it, so I choose to make individual tickets to do so. The lady was very happy about it. It almost looks like a mini album!
And this is the inside with all the tickets
Gee, Canada Post is on strike right now, all across Canada, until I don't know when. Hopefully this will end real soon!
Have a creative Thursday!

A Broken Umbrella

What can you make with a broken umbrella? A red umbrella can turn into wonderful poppies! I simply cut different size of circles and lightly burn the edges over a candle. I sewn a button and added black ink with a dry brush. Very easy and I will use them in my lay out!

Have a creative Sunday!

I've Been Published!

My layout is on page 25. I have been published in this great french magazine from Québec, Scrapbook Extra. My daughters were much younger in that time. Life was easier!
I really don't use often orange in my layouts but this time I think it was the right color to use.
Have a creative Thursday!

Alter It Monthly Challenge - Canvas

In June on Alter it Monthly Blog, the them is canvas. So I altered a piece of canvas that was in my stash. I painted it blue mist, stamped it (I know it doesn't show much on the photo) and finally decided to cut it to make a small banner with, well it is not that small, the canvas pennant measures 5" x 8". I think it looks cute!
Have a creative Monday!

A New Challenge - Edwige Style!

I found a new challenge! OK I didn't know this style. The lady is from France I think, or at least somewhere in Europe. You can see her style right HERE. It is to use bold colors and back them with black, use some felt same way and kraft paper. I didn't have any kraft paper so I used kraft cardstock. This is a photo of DD16, she took it yesterday, by herself with her macbook pro. The journaling is hiding (it's the kraft cardstock tag) because she is a shy girl. It was a fun challenge, but very strange to me to not use vintage photo ink on the edges of all my papers...I guess that's what challenges are made for, to jump out of our comfort zone...
Have a creative sunday!

Hot Air Balloon And Garage Sale

When I came back home from work yesterday evening, that's exactly what I saw in the sky! It was so close, almost in our backyard! I never did a ride of hot air balloon but I wish, one day...

And today is the annual garage sale all across our little town. I found few things like this old scrabble game. I never saw black cardboard tiles. They are huge more than 1 inch square, even the holder are bigger. I was not able to leave it there...
Also keys, well do I need more keys? probably not but they came home with me!
And the last thing I bought was those 6 drawers, I know I only took 2 in the photo but I got 6. I think I will paint them vintage white and they will be very beautiful!
This is it for today! Have a wonderful creative Saturday!
